Since its creation in March 2021, SafeSky has quickly become a key player in "iConspicuity", the digital perception of the other.

ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast)

While ADS-B for general aviation in Europe is still a relatively small market, as opposed to the United States, a number of players already have a well-established position.

However, having created their own protocols and using separate hardware, they are not compatible with each other.

This is why, among the 15 protocols aggregated by SafeSky, there are the 3 main ADS-B systems in Europe:

  • SkyEcho (uAvionix)

  • Stratux

  • flarm

Drones are increasingly present in Europe, whether for aerial surveillance or precision farming, pending delivery and air taxi services.

This is why the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), through the SESAR Joint Undertaking project, created the concepts of U-Space, and “iConspicuity”, the digital perception of the other (in flight).

U-spaces, for “Unmanned spaces”, will require general aviation pilots to have a means of being seen by drone operators and of detecting them.

To this end, SafeSky already has partnerships with major players such as

  • Droniq GmbH (Germany)

  • Helicus (Belgium)

  • SkyDrone

In addition, SafeSky participates in many working groups within EASA.
