INTEROPERABILITY
Connected to your navigation software or device,
SafeSky becomes your reliable cockpit companion.
TRAFFIC SHARING
SafeSky shares detected traffic directly with the most important navigation applications. You can also opt for split screen view between your navigation software and SafeSky.
SafeSky is also able to retrieve the traffic detected by your device (Stratux, SkyEcho or Flarm) and aggregate it with its own information. As such you get the most complete information, which your device alone would not have been able to give.
1/- How to configure SafeSky
You will need to complete some very simple steps in the "Settings" section according to your own preferences.
In the GDL90 section, activate and configure the following settings:
-
Select 'Setup' from the menu.
-
Click on "Traffic sharing" under the "Preferences" heading.
-
EFB traffic sharing should be enabled (Electronic Flight Bag = Navigation Software).
-
From the suggested navigation software, pick your preference. If the latter is not listed but permits data transfer using the GDL90 protocol, tick "Generic GDL90" .
-
The external traffic source should be enabled if you have one.
-
Select your compatible device from the suggested options or the "Generic GDL90" protocol if it is not listed but compatible with this protocol.
Important note: you can independently manage EFB sharing and external traffic sharing. The two functions work in perfect harmony with SafeSky and are fully compatible with one another.

2 / - What are the possible configurations?
SafeSky's interoperability enlarges its span of use:
-
Phone with SafeSky running in the background (standby mode) sending traffic information to your navigation software.
-
Phone with SafeSky in radar mode and sending traffic information to your navigation software.
-
Tablet with SafeSky, either in the background or in screen sharing, transferring traffic information to your navigation software.
You can use SafeSky and your navigational software on either two separate devices sharing an internet connection (a phone and a tablet or another phone), or on a single device. It's up to you!
